First let me say, "Houston"
Opinion:- originally, the word University was applied in respect to an individual or collection. It meant, someone with great knowledge and interest in all things that are part of where we are - everything. They were also noted for their obvious pleasure in sharing them - teacher. Lessons would include, theory, discussion, demonstration, establishing facts, speculation, assessment - mutual appreciation.
In antiquity, the greatest minds had been previously employed (mostly) in self-learning = research, theory and experiment.
It was only natural - their way of Life
When they wrote, they were recording their results for themselves and for others (whoever maybe interested in reading them).
I've asked my children a range of questions this year, but in respect to one area I've had some very interesting responses. I've been considering what route/avenue of potential source of income I might be best suited towards. So I've bounced a few ideas off my children.....
"I could be an artist, what do you think of my paintings?"
"They're very good, I particularly like that one" - Four individual and separate answers
"Do you, thank you, why do you like that more?"
"It's really good!", "I like the colours", "I like the subject", "I like how realistic/original/different/traditional it is", "I love it"
I've even had to keep some paintings out of their view, they get embarrassed when they inadvertently look at one of the nudes. I think it's because they imagine they're all me.
